Smart Background Remover
Remove image backgrounds instantly using AI and create transparent PNGs for e-commerce, social media, presentations, and design projects.
How to use
Upload your image
Drag and drop or browse for a PNG, JPG, JPEG or WEBP file. The AI starts immediately, showing each stage — detecting the subject, removing the background and refining edges.
Compare the result
Use the interactive slider or side-by-side view to check the cut-out against the original, and the zoom tool to inspect edges and fine detail.
Replace the background
Keep it transparent, pick a colour, upload your own background image, or apply an e-commerce / social preset that resizes and centres the subject.
Download or copy
Export a transparent PNG, or a WEBP/JPG, in one click — or copy the image straight to your clipboard. Everything stays in your browser.

Understanding background removal
What is background removal?
The process of separating the main subject of a photo from everything behind it, producing a clean cut-out. The result is usually a transparent PNG you can place on any new background.
How AI removal works
A neural segmentation model predicts, pixel by pixel, whether each point belongs to the subject or the background — then builds an alpha mask. Edge refinement feathers or sharpens that mask for a natural cut.
Best backgrounds for products
Pure white (#FFFFFF) is the marketplace standard — it isolates the product, looks clean, and meets listing rules. Soft neutral greys work for lifestyle shots; avoid busy or coloured backdrops that distract.
Transparent PNG guide
PNG and WEBP store an alpha channel, so transparency is preserved when you composite them. JPG cannot — it flattens onto a solid colour. Use PNG for cut-outs destined for design tools and overlays.
