About this tool

A fast, two-mode discount calculator built for everyday shopping. Find Final Price mode calculates what you pay and how much you save when you know the original price and the discount percentage. Find Discount % mode works backwards — enter the original price and the price shown on the tag to instantly see the true percentage off and exact savings amount.

Use the quick discount chips (5% – 70%) to compare common sale scenarios at a glance. The savings progress bar shows visually how large the discount is relative to the original price. Supports INR, USD, EUR, and GBP. All calculations run in your browser — nothing is sent to any server.

How to use

1

Choose your mode

Pick 'Find Final Price' if you know the discount percentage, or 'Find Discount %' if you know both the original and sale prices and want to verify the real saving.

2

Enter the original price

Type the MRP or listed price. Use the quick chips (₹500 – ₹10K) to jump to common price points. Choose your preferred currency from the selector.

3

Set the discount or final price

In Find Final Price mode, type or drag the discount slider, or tap a quick chip (10%, 20%, 50%…). In Find Discount % mode, enter the actual selling price.

4

Read the results

The final price, savings amount, and discount percentage update instantly. The green savings card and progress bar show exactly how good the deal is.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about discount calculation, stacked discounts, and real savings.

Final Price = Original Price × (1 − Discount% ÷ 100). For example, a ₹2,000 item at 20% off: ₹2,000 × (1 − 0.20) = ₹1,600. The discount amount is simply Original Price × Discount% ÷ 100, which in this case is ₹400.

Switch to the 'Find Discount %' tab, enter the original price and the discounted price. The calculator applies: Discount% = ((Original − Final) ÷ Original) × 100. For example, original ₹1,000 and final ₹750 gives (250 ÷ 1,000) × 100 = 25% off.

Discount on MRP (Maximum Retail Price) is the most common form shown in retail — it is calculated on the higher list price. Discount on selling price (cost-plus pricing) is calculated on the lower actual price. Always check which base price is being used; the same rupee saving produces a higher percentage when calculated on the selling price.

For two successive discounts (e.g., 20% then 10%), do not add them. Instead apply them one at a time: ₹1,000 after 20% = ₹800; ₹800 after 10% = ₹720. The effective single discount is 28%, not 30%. Use this calculator twice — once for each discount — to find the final price.

No — the calculator works on the price you enter as-is. If you enter the MRP (which may include GST), the result is the discounted MRP. If you want the pre-tax discounted price, enter the pre-tax price. Use the GST Calculator on this site to separate tax from price before or after applying the discount.

A direct discount reduces the purchase price immediately. A cashback is credited to your account after purchase and may have conditions (minimum spend, expiry, withdrawal limits). For a pure savings comparison, treat cashback as equivalent to a discount only if it is unconditional and you will actually redeem it.

Retailers often round the displayed percentage. For example, a ₹499 item reduced to ₹399 is actually 20.04% off but may be advertised as '20% off'. This calculator shows the precise calculated percentage so you can verify the actual saving.
