How to reorder PDF pages

1

Upload your PDF

Drag and drop or browse for a PDF (up to 50 MB). Every page renders as a thumbnail card in the workspace.

2

Drag cards to reorder

Grab any card and drop it where you want. The position number on each card updates in real time so you can see the new sequence at a glance.

3

Rotate or delete (optional)

Hover a card to reveal action buttons — rotate 90° at a time or delete a page entirely. The document summary updates instantly.

4

Export the new PDF

Set a filename and click Export. The rebuilt PDF downloads to your device — annotations, page content, and form fields are preserved.

When you'll reach for this tool

Fix incorrect PDF page order

Scanner spat pages out of sequence? Drag them into the right order instead of re-scanning.

Rearrange scanned documents

Multi-page scans often need light cleanup — move the cover to the front, drop blank pages, rotate sideways scans.

Restructure long reports

Move appendices, regroup chapters, or pull conclusions to the front — without exporting from the source app.

Strip unwanted pages

Delete blank dividers, draft pages, or confidential sections before sharing the document.

Fix sideways scans

Rotate individual pages 90/180/270° to fix rotated scans without re-printing.

Repurpose existing PDFs

Pull a few pages, reorder them, and ship as a focused mini-document for one specific stakeholder.

Organize PDF documents easily

Browser-only

pdf.js renders previews, pdf-lib rebuilds the final PDF — both run 100% client-side. Your file never leaves your machine.

Smooth drag

Powered by dnd-kit with pointer, touch, and keyboard sensors — accessible everywhere, smooth on mobile, and works with screen readers.

Live summary

Sidebar shows page count, number of moves, rotations, deletions, and estimated output size — updates the moment you change anything.

Lossless export

Pages are copied byte-for-byte from the source PDF — no re-rendering, no quality loss. Annotations and form fields ride along untouched.

Rearrange scanned PDFs

Bulk scanners often spit out pages in the wrong order — especially when feeding double-sided originals through a single-sided scanner, or when stapled bundles get misaligned. This tool gives you a visual canvas to put them back in the right order without re-scanning the stack.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about reordering PDF pages, drag-and-drop interaction, rotation, and privacy.

Upload your PDF, then drag any page card to a new position in the grid. The position number updates in real time. When you're happy with the new order, click 'Export reordered PDF' to download the rebuilt document. You can also delete pages and rotate them 90° at a time before exporting.

Yes — full drag-and-drop powered by dnd-kit. On desktop, click and drag any card. On touch devices, press and hold for ~200ms then drag (the delay prevents accidental drags during normal scrolling). The drop position is highlighted with a ghost preview as you move.

No. Every operation — page rendering (via pdf.js), reordering, rotation, deletion, and the final PDF rebuild (via pdf-lib) — happens entirely in your browser. Your file never touches a server, so it's safe to use for contracts, financial statements, or any confidential document.

Yes. Hover any card (or tap-and-hold on touch) to reveal the rotate and delete buttons. Deleted pages are removed from the output, and the document summary updates so you can see exactly how many pages will be in the final PDF.

The tool accepts PDFs up to 50 MB. For long documents (200+ pages), thumbnails render progressively — the first 6 pages render eagerly and the rest lazy-load on scroll, so the UI stays responsive. Drag interactions remain smooth even with 100+ visible cards.

Yes. Click the circular arrow on any card to rotate that page by 90° clockwise. Click again for 180°, then 270°, then back to 0°. Rotation is additive on top of the page's existing rotation in the source PDF, so the output looks exactly like the thumbnail preview.

Page content, annotations attached to pages, and form fields are preserved by pdf-lib's copyPages operation. Document-level bookmarks (table of contents) are not carried over because they reference original page numbers — a known pdf-lib limitation. Internal text and graphics stay exactly as they were.

Use the 'Reset to original order' button in the left panel to restore the source PDF's exact page sequence and clear any rotations or deletions. The reset only affects the working state — your uploaded file is never modified, so you can always start over.
