About this tool

Whether you are joining scanned chapters, combining invoices and receipts, or assembling a handout from several exports, you should not have to email files to yourself or trust a random upload site. This merge PDF tool is built for clarity and control: you see every file in your queue, you drag to set merge order, and for each document you can keep all pages or type a custom page list such as 1-3, 5, 8-12 so only those pages are copied into the final PDF.

Under the hood, the tool uses pdf-lib in your browser: PDFs are read with the File API, pages are copied into a new document in order, and you download the result locally. Contracts, medical forms, or personal records never leave your machine during the merge. If a file is corrupted or password-protected, you get a clear error instead of a silent failure.

How to use

1

Upload your PDFs

Drag and drop one or more .pdf files into the upload area, or click Browse. Each file appears as a row in your merge queue.

2

Reorder and select pages

Drag rows to set merge order. Expand each file to choose all pages or type a custom range (e.g. 1-3, 5, 8-12).

3

Set output options

Enter a filename and optionally enable object-stream compression to trim the output size slightly.

4

Merge and download

Click Merge PDF and download your combined document when the success message appears.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about combining PDF files, page selection, and privacy when merging online.

Upload two or more PDFs, put them in the order you want, choose whole documents or specific page ranges, set an output name, then click merge. Everything runs in your browser with pdf-lib — files are not uploaded to a server.

Yes. For each file you can keep “All pages” or switch to “Custom pages” and enter ranges like 1-5, 8, 12-14. Pages are taken in the order you list, and combined in the order of your files.

Use the drag handle on each row to reorder files. The merged PDF follows that order from top to bottom.

Password-protected or heavily encrypted PDFs may fail to open in the browser. Corrupted downloads or non-PDF files will also error. Try re-exporting from the original app or removing encryption first.

When enabled, pdf-lib writes the output with object streams, which can slightly reduce file size for some documents. It is a light optimization, not the same as aggressive server-side compression.

Each PDF can be up to about 40 MB in this tool, with a warning shown for large uploads. Very big documents may be slow or run out of memory — merge in smaller batches if needed.
