About this tool

A fast, multi-category unit converter covering six measurement types: Length, Weight, Temperature, Area, Volume, and Speed. Every conversion runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to any server and results appear as you type, with no calculate button needed.

The searchable unit dropdowns make it easy to find obscure units like Nautical Miles or Kelvin. Every unit in a category is assigned a conversion factor relative to a common base unit (e.g., metres for length, kilograms for weight). To convert from Unit A to Unit B, the input is first converted to the base unit, then from the base unit to Unit B. Temperature is an exception — it uses offset formulas (°C → °F = × 9/5 + 32; °C → K = + 273.15) because the scales have different zero points.

When you press the swap button, the converter flips the units AND sets the input field to the previous result. This means you are now asking the reverse question with the same magnitude. For example, 1 metre = 3.28084 feet; after swap, the input becomes 3.28084 feet and the result is 1 metre — perfectly reversible.

Select the Temperature category, choose your source unit (e.g., Celsius) and target unit (e.g., Fahrenheit), then type your value. The converter uses exact formulas: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32; K = °C + 273.15. All three directions are supported and update instantly.

When a result is extremely large (≥ 1 trillion) or extremely small (< 0.0000001), the converter switches to scientific notation (e.g., 1.23e-9) to keep the display readable and avoid misleading strings of zeros. Normal everyday conversions always display in standard decimal form.
